How do i open a gmail account without getting an invite???

It is not possible as long as you don't have an invite

Yes You can get an gmail account without an invitation. Go to Googles webisite and then to Gmail. There is a place there that you can put in your cell number and they will text message you a password that lets you sign up!

For Gmail you must go to options and turn on the POP3 feature. In Yahoo you must have Mail Plus for $19.99 a year to use the POP3 feature.

Reply:You can always get one that is at your own domain name. We used to own a business and we created a website with emails _____@(our business name).com. Just look into free "personalized" email addresses, I would think.

You will need to upgrade to Mail Plus before you are allowed to auto-forward to another email. That is a payable email account.

Help! I can't get internet pages to open which require login eg bank, gmail etc?

I also can't download IE 7.0 and get the 0x80072EE2 error. I have tried all the microsoft fixes and none work (Most of the automatic windows updates do work though). It seems like an internet setting or firewall is blocking any pages where authentication is required. I have also tried switching off the anti-virus software but that didn't help. Basically all the pages (that come after you put your username and password etc.) just time out. I've got XP SP2 and IE 6.

Try disabling your proxy, if you use internet explorer, do following:

1. Open it, go to Tools%26gt;Internet Options.

2. Go to "Connections" tab. At the bottom, see LAN Settings, click it.

3. Check if you enable the proxy. Try disable it.

4. When this problem occurred?

Actually I don't like this explorer. Why don't you get Firefox, instead?

OR may be you're behind a firewall?

Do you use your PC by yourself? may be there is someone trying to fix the connection, but he failed.

I ever experienced similar problem. Then I figure out that proxy server blocks our request to the destination. OR you may be in a corporation, and your company prevents you to view those site.

I don't know ... I'm not having a problem.

The only time I've had a problem is when I'm on a slow internet connection. Then you need to opt for the HTML view for slower connection speeds. It will ask you if that's what you want while it's loading after you've logged in.

One way to get around having to log into Gmail all the time ... you can set it to forward a copy of each email to another email address. I use that feature to monitor a couple of different gmail addresses at once, I have a copy of all of them go to the same AOL email address. And I don't log into any of the gmail accounts unless I have to reply to someone.

You can't change your id address. I had to make a new account, but then I had all the mail from my old account forwarded to my new account. This way, you can use your new email, but still keep your old login for orkut.

Look for how to do this in google help, but I had to turn on POP in the settings of the new account.

BETa is the comsumer trial stage of software testing. it gives the developer a chance to see how the software functions and allows the consumer to test and supply feedback. this stage is important because the consumer will use the software as they deem necessary which may not be a way the software company intended. so several bugs will come out it allows the manufactuer to tweak the software b4 a final version is released. and best of all for the manufactuer you the consumer using the trial version do all this testing reporting and suggestion making FOR FREE

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Java script to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send receive delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. First of all, configure GMail into your local mail client Microsoft Outlook (I am using version 2003). You may configure GMail as IMAP or POP a/c. I prefer IMAP. For configuring GMail to Outlook, please see the instructions here http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answe...

Once you have configured GMail in outlook and are able to see your G-mails in outlook, follow these steps:

a) In Outlook Menu Bar, Go to Tools -%26gt; Options. A dialog will open up.

b) On Preferences tab, in E-mail section click on "E-mail Options.." button.

c) Click on "Tracking Options.." button

d) Check the checkbox "Read receipt" and/or "Delivery receipt". This enables the read receipts and/or delivery recipts based upon the selection, for all your mails going out of Microsoft Outlook.

e) Now send a mail to someone from Microsoft Outlook. It will use your GMail settings to send the mail, and you will receive the respective receipt as well.

f) While sending mails from Gmail interface, you will not get the receipts.

The other way, if you want these receipts only for specific mails; do not do the above configuration. While composing any mail in Outlook, click on "Options.. " button in your mail composer. It will open up a dialog where you can choose a chechbox "Request a read/delivery receipt for this message". This will apply only to this mail not all the mails you send.

I'm getting ready to go to gmail, because my yahoo mail is not working, I get this weird message saying error.

I've had this same problem... and even though Yahoo says that you can use the old version of mail or the new updated one (the one that looks more like outlook express), the old one doesn't work if you're trying to send or reply to mail. If I choose 'check mail', it takes forever. If I choose 'send mail', it goes nowhere and I get an error. If I choose to forward - nowhere, etc.

I caved in and upgraded to their "new yahoo mail" (also free), and haven't had any problems yet.

No you can't log in to an Orkut account using a Yahoo! account. They have no affiliation with one another.

Yes, you can download your mails into outlook and you can send/receive mails there but first you have to allow pop3 and mailforwarding in your gmail account under settings option and mailforwarding (tab)

Do you use more than one email address, and have one forward to the other? If so, and if you get the duplicates from only some senders, it may be that those senders have noticed you have two addresses, and they then send emails to both (the forwarder then sends from one to the other, creating a dupe on your forwarding recipient account).

Even if not that, check your "email forwarding" settings on your accounts ... maybe something is doubling up. Good luck.

It means that the incomming server information in the account is wrong. You have the server set to 127.0.0.1 which is the local machine. That isn't right.

It could be that anti-spam software reset it. They do that because they use themselves as a proxy and that means you email program uses the local host as the server, then the spam software relays it out.

You either need to fix it in your email program or the spam software.
