How to change my Gmail Id address. i cant delete it because then orkut account which it hold will get deleted?

i cant delete my orkut account. but if i delete my gmail account it will delete the orkut account it holds..... right???... but i dont like the gmail username... what wil i do... please help me...

You can't change your id address. I had to make a new account, but then I had all the mail from my old account forwarded to my new account. This way, you can use your new email, but still keep your old login for orkut.


Look for how to do this in google help, but I had to turn on POP in the settings of the new account.
Reply:Hi... I am also facing the same issue and I have tried many times to find out a workaround..


Gmail group says that the gmail userid or orkut shortname cant be changed,,,


the only solution infront of me is to delete my gmail account....which is the shortname for my orkut id...so my orkut will also be deleted..which I dont want..





Please update me if you get any solution on this issue. Try writing a mail to gmail group asking their help
