Gmail... how to get started?

How do you get a gmail account? I've got a google username and password, but that doesnt help me with gmail that I can see. I dont understand...!!! Thanks.

so..!! you can either send an email to the answerer before me requesting an INVITE and by responding on the link sent by his invite you can create an account ...or contact me, i will send you an invite.

Reply:There are two ways to sign up for a GMail account.


1) You can sign up yourself. When you sign up, you will need to have a cell phone number. You need to put in your cell phone number and Google will send a short text message with a confirmation code in it. Once you get the code, you will need to put it in the confirmation form. That's how I signed up for a GMail account.





2) If you know anyone that has a GMail account, you can ask them to send you an invitation. Once you get the invitation, you just follow the directions to create your own Gmail account. I have a GMail account; if you don't mind, please send me your email address just so I can send you a GMail invitation.
