I sent an e-mail through gmail, and I got an away message from the recipient. Did my e-mail go through?

Or did it bounce back? By away message, I mean that it was one of those, "I'm away on vacation, you won't be able to reach me until such and such date." An instant response message kind of thing.

Yes, they received it but that away message is just a way for them to let you know that they wont be checking their email until they return. It's there, just be patient and wait.
Reply:Your e mail was received on the other end. The "out of office" message is sent to you because the receiver wanted to notify senders that there will likely be a delay in response.

Reply:Yep! They got it and just wanted to let you know that they won't be able to respond for a little while due to being out of the office.
