I wonder how gmail and yahoo provide 1gb space to each and every users of them. how do they get so huge memory

These companies dont actually provide this much memory to every user. They state that they do, because they know that in fact many users will hardly use about 100mb. The 5gb, or 2gb stroage is just there because they just want people to get lured into their email engine, so they can join and make it more popular. I know hardly anyone who has used their email up to more than 500 mb.

just like that...
Reply:No one will ever use the whole space up. A typical email takes up only a couple of kb's. So it's just basically to make you choose them over another company.
Reply:Hardly anyone uses 1GB of memory so I suppose it just sounds good doesnt it.. "We offer 1GB of memory!" But no one uses it!
Reply:Actually, they are required by law to provide as much space as they advertise.
